|SUBJECT||Nursery School Opened at Bank Headquarters|
The Export-Import Bank of Korea (Korea Eximbank) opened the Geumnuri Nursery School for children aged 0 to 5 of Bank employees.
To alleviate the difficulties of Bank employees in juggling the responsibilities of work and childcare, Korea Eximbank initiated efforts to open a nursery last year and finally began operation on March 5.
Korea Eximbank dedicated 182 square meters of office space to build a nursery able to accommodate 49 infants and toddlers.
The nursery will be open until 9:00 p.m., much later than other childcare facilities.
The nursery was build to serve the needs of the increasing number of women working at the Bank, especially as many employees must work overtime for duties such as overseas conference calls.
Participating as a one-day instructor at the nursery, Chairman Yong Hwan Kim of Korea Eximbank commented, “The installation of the nursery is hoped to reduce the burdens of childcare and help employees returning to the Bank after maternity leave. Encouraging a culture that harmonizes work and childcare is an essential component to resolving the modern social problem of low birth rates.”
