|SUBJECT||Korea Ranked 17th in ODA Performance for 2011 with USD 1.3 Billion|
On April 4, the Export-Import Bank of Korea, the agency for overseeing Korea’s ODA* statistics, reported that Korea’s ODA volume for 2011 totaled USD 1.32 billion.
* The Export-Import Bank of Korea was designated by the International Development Cooperation Committee in October 2010 to oversee the gathering and analysis of statistical information pertaining to Korea’s ODA.
The total represents an increase of USD 150 million over the prior year. Korea has increased its ODA volume for five consecutive years since 2006, while 16 of 23 member countries of the OECD Development Assistance Committee (DAC) have decreased their ODA volumes.
According to statistical analysis of the Bank*, Korea ranked 17th out of 23 countries in total ODA volume, up from 18th last year, and inched up a rank to 22nd in ODA/GNI** ratio with 0.12%.

In addition, per capital ODA in 2011 totaled KRW 29,994, which represents an increase of KRW 2,264 from the year before.
The US, Germany, UK, France, and Japan recorded the top five ODA support volumes while Denmark, Luxembourg, Holland, Norway, and Sweden achieved the ODA/GNI target suggested by the UN of 0.7%.
