Date 2020.11.02 View 11751

The Export-Import Bank of Korea (www.koreaexim.go.kr, “Korea Eximbank”) chairman Bang Moon-kyu held a live non-face-to-face town hall meeting for the bank’s employees at the headquarters in Yeouido, Seoul, on the occasion of the first anniversary of his inauguration.

The event was organized to address employees' questions about the recent developments around the bank‘s management at a time when face-to-face contacts between the management and employees decreased due to COVID- 19.

The meeting was for young employees working at the headquarters, local branches and overseas corporations and offices. About 30 employees attended the meeting via webcam and mobile devices.

In the two-hour meeting, the employees asked questions about the bank‘s diverse issues such as business plans, loan strategies, reorganization plan, and personnel management.

They also asked about chairman Bang’s personal life, including his favorite YouTube channels and Netflix series, how he spends his pastime, and knowhow for maintaining good health.

At the end of the meeting, an employee connected from the New Delhi office in India said, "Working abroad, I felt I needed to catch up with news and current affairs of the headquarters. Thanks to the direct conversation with the chairman, I think I got all the information I needed. If possible, it would be nice to make this event regular."

Another employee working at the headquarters said, "With the reorganization scheduled at the end of the year, I had a lot of questions to ask and it was good to hear from the chairman directly on the plan. Plus, I learned a more personal side of the chairman who I used to feel distant from."

Meanwhile, Chairman Bang said, "It was meaningful to listen and understand the interests and concerns of young employees through the new virtual communication channel." He added, "We will continue our open communication with staff via any means preferred by our employees."
