Official Export Credit

Official Export Credit image

The Export-Import Bank of Korea is an official export credit agency providing comprehensive export loan and guarantee programs to support Korean enterprises conducting business overseas. Since its establishment in 1976, it has actively supported Korea’s export-led economy and facilitated economic cooperation with foreign countries.

In principle, the terms and conditions of our export credits comply with the OECD Arrangement on Export Credits for a level playing field.

What is an official export credit agency?

  • Governments provide officially supported export credits through Export Credit Agencies (ECAs) in support of national exporters competing for overseas sales. Such support can take the form either of “official financing support”, such as direct credits to foreign buyers, refinancing or interest-rate support, or of “pure cover support”, such as export credits insurance or guarantee cover for credits provided by private financial institutions.

What is the Arrangement on Export Credits?

  • The Arrangement is a "Gentlemen's Agreement" amongst its Participants who represent most OECD Member Governments. The Arrangement sets forth the most generous export credit terms and conditions that may be supported by its Participants.
