About IKCF

Major funding sources for IKCF include contributions from the Korean government, loans from the Public Capital Management Fund, and reserves and financial returns on IKCF’s investment portfolio.

The cumulative amount funded for IKCF purposes since its establishment stands at KRW 15.5 trillion as of the end of 2020. Of this amount, 57% (KRW 8.8 trillion) came from the Public Capital Management Fund, 35% (KRW 5.4 trillion) from government contributions and 8% (KRW 1.3 trillion) from financial returns.

Of the total amount funded, KRW 7.1 trillion was disbursed as grants (KRW 4.0 trillion) and loans (KRW 3.1 trillion). KRW 8.3 trillion was used to repay loans owed to the Public Capital Management Fund. The IKCF reserve, including deposits and short and long-term financial investments, amounts to KRW 100 billion as of the end of 2020.
