The Export-Import Bank of Korea (www.koreaexim.go.kr, Chairman EUN, Sung-soo, "Korea Eximbank") announced that it held a workshop titled “Workshop for Domestic Firms’ Entry into ODA International Procurement Market: Linked to KSP” at 63 Convention Center in Seoul on October 30.

The workshop was arranged with the aim of supporting domestic SMEs and medium-large companies seeking business opportunities in the international procurement markets. The workshop was attended by 150 people from the Ministry of Economy and Finance, several public institutions operating or handling Knowledge Sharing Program (KSP), and 85 domestic firms.

At the workshop, Korea Eximbank officials introduced successful co-financing projects supported by the Economic Development and Cooperation Fund (EDCF) and the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) such as establishing a broadband network spanning 72 municipalities in Nicaragua. Korea Eximbank also explained strategies to diversify financial resources for projects associated with KSP.

SMEs and medium-large companies were also offered practical lessons on procurement process at large and contract winning strategies in the international procurement markets funded by EDCF, Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA), and the Asia Development Bank (ADB).

The Bank’s Chairman Sung-soo Eun remarked, “The importance of KSP is   growing in the context of sustainable development and its effectiveness.” He added, “Through KSP, which is Korea’s representative knowledge sharing program, Korea Eximbank will be offering consultations zeroing in on partner countries’ development needs and lay foundation for domestic firms to enter into ODA international procurement markets through projects subsequent to implementing the program.”
