□ The Export-Import Bank of Korea (www.koreaexim.go.kr, Chairman Bang Moon-kyu, “Korea Eximbank“) announced on the 26th that it has discussed ways to cooperate with NuScale Power, a leading company in the U.S. Small Modular Reactor (SMR).
* First design certification in 2020 from the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC), the world's highest authority on nuclear power.
□ On the afternoon of the 25th, Chairman Bang Moon-kyu met with the executives of NuScale Power, who visited the Korea Eximbank to discuss financial support for the small module reactor demonstration project currently underway in Idaho.
ㅇ At the meeting, Chairman Bang also discussed financial support measures necessary for domestic related companies to jointly enter third countries with NuScale Power.
□ A small module reactor has a power generation capacity of 300 MW, which can be produced and assembled in a factory.
ㅇ It can also be used for hydrogen production and seawater desalination in the future.
