Chairman & President

Welcome to the Export-Import Bank of Korea (KEXIM).
I am Bang Moon-Kyu, Chairman and President of KEXIM.

Since founded in 1976, KEXIM has been dedicated to supporting Korea’s
foreign trade, overseas investment, and natural resources development abroad.

In the early years upon establishment, KEXIM opened a new horizon
in the exports of heavy and chemical goods, and has since been playing
an instrumental role in assisting Korea’s key industries such as shipbuilding
and overseas construction in realizing the world’s best competitiveness.
In times of crisis, it served as a reliable financial safety net for Korea’s
financial market.

Last year, we supported Korean companies to overcome the COVID-19
crisis by providing 73 trillion won in loans and guarantees,
far exceeding the original target of 64 trillion won.

On the EDCF side, we also successfully accommodated the developing
countries’ efforts to combat COVID-19 with concessional loans
under the COVID-19 Emergency Response Program, amounting to $476 million.
In so doing, we shared Korea’s COVID-19 response experience and helped
introduce the Korean quarantine model abroad.

Although the global economy is expected to recover rapidly thanks to COVID-19 vaccination rollouts in many parts
of the world, there still remains a concern of global risks such as the reorganization of global supply chain
and the spread of trade protectionism.

In this respect, KEXIM will endeavor to underpin the robust growth of the Korean economy by committing to bold,
ambitious goals focusing on the following three core business targets in 2021:

First, we will lay the groundwork for the Korean economy to re-clinch the $600 billion export mark.
To this end, we will provide 5 trillion won to facilitate the Korean New Deal, a national initiative envisioning
future growth engines and also commit 29 trillion won, the highest amount ever, for SMEs so that they can grow
into Small Giants and Unicorns with global competitiveness.

Second, we will accelerate digital transformation at KEXIM. We are looking forward to enhancing the accessibility
and convenience of our services by developing digital systems such as automatic credit approval and non-face-to-face
financial service platforms.

Lastly, we will lead ESG management in all areas of our business activities. We will solidify the trust of our clients
and the citizens of Korea by expanding eco-friendly finance, implementing social responsibilities, and strengthening compliance.

We appreciate your interest and encouragement as we continue to challenge ourselves embracing new ideas and innovation
and lead the way for the Korean economy to take another leap forward.

Thank you.
Bang, Moon-Kyu, Chairman and President
