Meeting Hosted for IT Company CEOs in Gyeonggi-Suwon

□ At the Suwon Small and Medium Business Center, Chairman Yong Hwan Kim of Korea Eximbank hosted a luncheon meeting with CEOs of eight prospective IT Hidden Champions in Gyeonggi-Suwon on May 24.

○ The purpose of the meeting was to listen firsthand to the difficulties of IT companies for development of effective support strategies.

* Participating Hidden Champion IT companies: VATECH, Elentec, Shinsung Solar Energy, e-LITECOM, MK Electron, Samwha Capacitor, LMS, and Optis.

□ Chairman Kim stated, “The Bank will provide customized financing and non-financial services, such as consulting, in all phases of growth to assist SMEs in the IT sector secure global competiveness. In so doing, the Bank aims to promote exports in the green and new growth industry of advanced IT convergence.”

□ Speaking on behalf of the attendees, Elentec President Sea Yong Lee, stated, “We appreciate the active financial support from Korea Eximbank, especially in the wake of the global financial crisis and the earthquake in Japan. We hope that the Bank will provide stable financial support for the IT industry in Gyeonggi-Suwon as it is more sensitive to economic fluctuations than other industries despite being one of the biggest exporters in Korea.”

□ After the meeting, Chairman Kim visited the fabrication line of VATECH, an IT medical equipment manufacturer in Gyeonggi-Suwon and a potential Hidden Champion.

□ Chairman Kim will continue his frequent visits to regional exporters as part of his field-oriented management. The Bank will also continue efforts to address financial difficulties through customized financial support for regionally specialized industries.
