□ On August 5, KEXIM Outreach, a volunteer organization of Korea Eximbank (www.koreaexim.go.kr, Chairman Yong Hwan Kim), helped flood recovery efforts and flood victims in Gwangu, Gyeonggi-do, a region devastated by the most recent rainstorm.

○ 30 volunteers from Korea Eximbank cleaned mud from houses, factory equipment, and warehoused inventory to lessen the hardships of flood victims.

□ On July 27, Korea Eximbank established a special task force dedicated to providing rapid and comprehensive support such as a one year extension on loans and guarantees for SMEs impacted by the flood. To benefit the victims of the flood, employees of the Bank donated a part of their salaries for a collective total of KRW 10 million to the Korea Disaster Relief Association.

□ A volunteer from Korea Eximbank stated, “The extent of the damage was larger than I thought. I hope that our efforts can be of assistance to the flood victims.”

□ Chairman Kim stated, “Doing what we can to assist people in need is one of our duties as a government policy bank. Korea Eximbank will actively contribute to flood recovery efforts through such volunteer programs and financial assistance.”
