□ On August 16, Chairman Yong Hwan Kim visited the House of Wilderness, a soup kitchen near Yeongdeungpo station in Seoul, with 20 Korea Eximbank employees and distributed free lunch to approximately 200 people.
○ The employee volunteers worked up a sweat as they served food, washed dishes, and cleaned the facilities.
□ In addition to helping out at the soup kitchen, Chairman Kim presented the House of Wilderness with 260 20kg-bags of rice purchased from Seongsu-ri in Hongcheon-gun, Gangwon province, an affiliated village of Korea Eximbank.
○ Since 2005, when Korea Eximbank initiated its volunteer program for the House of Wilderness, the bank has donated a total of 1,055 20kg-bags of rice to the soup kitchen.
* Assuming that each bag of rice feeds up to 120 people, rice contributions by Korea Eximbank can feed up to 126,600 people.
□ Chairman Kim said, “We are here to help our neighbors who have suffered losses from floods or typhoons and to help them have at least one warm meal. Korea Eximbank will do all it can to fulfill its social responsibilities through various community outreach and volunteer programs.”
○ Every year, Korea Eximbank donates over 1% of net profits for the quarter and bank employees contribute a part of their salaries to assist people in need.
