□ On August 23, Korea Eximbank (www.koreaexim.go.kr, Chairman Yong Hwan Kim) signed an MOU with WestLB AG in Seoul, Korea to increase cooperation and coordination between the two institutions.
□ With the launch of the Investment Banking Office, which has been set up to support the growing role of Korea Eximbank in the global financing market, Korea Eximbank plans to establish a strategic platform for cooperation with international commercial banks. In doing so, Korea Eximbank seeks to create more opportunities for collaboration with international banks and serve as the co-arranger or coordinator for financing of large-scale overseas projects.
□ In line with this initiative, Korea Eximbank signed the MOU with WestLB to strengthen project support cooperation and to promote exchange of information. The MOU is anticipated to serve as a launch pad for stronger partnerships with international commercial banks. For continued expansion of its global networks and establishment of a stronger framework for cooperation, Korea Eximbank aims to sign additional MOUs with other esteemed international commercial banks this year.
