‘4th EDCF Training Session’ Hosted by Korea Eximbank

Date 2012.01.17 View 27768
The Export-Import Bank of Korea (Korea Eximbank) announced on the 4th that it will be hosting its Fourth Export Development Cooperation Fund (EDCF) Training Camp from the 12th until the 14th. The event will take place at Korea Eximbank’s Human Resources Development Center in Yongin and will be participated by 50 university students.

The event was hosted to promote understanding of Official Development Assistance (ODA) and increase knowledge of EDCF as ODA gains prominence after Korea became a member of the OECD Development Assistance Committee (DAC) and hosted the Fourth Highest Level Forum (HLF-4) in Busan.

The camp will include various activities such as introduction of EDCF cases and first hand experiences, group discussions on international development issues, and an “ODA Golden Bell,” a quiz game testing one’s knowledge of ODA.

There is no participation fee for the event, and dining and sleeping accommodations will be provided. Online applications will be accepted until 5p.m. Friday, January 6.

Students selected for the camp will be notified by email. Those who have completed the program will be given a certificate issued by the Chairman of Korea Eximbank along with a souvenir.

“The camp will be a good opportunity for students to gain a deeper understanding of international development cooperation,” commented a representative of Korea Eximbank. “In particular, it will be a good learning opportunity for those who are seeking a career in international development cooperation.”
