The Export-Import Bank of Korea (www.koreaexim.go.kr, Chairman Yong Hwan Kim, “ Korea Eximbank”) delivered “Briquettes of Love” to 300 households of elderly people living alone in a low-income hillside village in Jung gye bon-dong on November 5.
Over 30 volunteers from Korea Eximbank (the “Na Num Corps”) including Chairman Yong Hwan Kim donated 60,000 coal briquettes (worth KRW 30 million) to Coal Briquette Bank (Representative Ki Bok Huh), a charity foundation, to help the elderly stay warm during the winter.
Korea Eximbank volunteers also hand-delivered 2,000 briquettes using A-frame back carriers, braving the bad weather, to over 10 households of elderly people accessible only through narrow alleys that neither trucks nor hand carts could enter.
