The Export-Import Bank of Korea (www.koreaexim.go.kr, Chairman Yong Hwan Kim, “Korea Eximbank”) invited 300 multicultural children from the Seoul Metropolitan Area to a Korean traditional music concert titled ‘World Beat Binari’ at the Cine Core theater in Jongno, Seoul.
Korea Eximbank donated KRW 10 million to the concert organized by the social enterprise Culture Town Dulsori. The youngsters cheered enthusiastically as they were treated to an exciting performace of traditional percussion and instrumental music replete with dynamic rhythms and dances.
Korea Eximbank Director of Social Responsibility Gi Seob Nam remarked, “The event was organized to give multicultural children, who often lack the means to go to concerts, an opportunity to enrich their cultural lives. I hope they had a ‘culturally healing’ experience that would encourage them to flourish and succeed as members of our society.”
Korea Eximbank is the first financial institution in Korea to have organized a group of volunteers from its staff to perform community services. Its ‘Pro-bono Service Corps’ has performed many services for social enterprises, for example by helping Culture Town Dulsori translate and launch a Chinese website.
