The Export-Import Bank of Korea (www.koreaexim.go.kr, Chairman Kim Yong-hwan, “Korea Eximbank”) announced on December 31 that the bank will conduct its regular personnel reassignment for the first half of 2014 on January 2.
A striking feature of this season’s personnel move is the advancement of women ? 14 out of 26 employees promoted to senior officers (54%) were women.
In particular, Ms. Lee Hyun-jung (43, Female) was appointed as Director of the Organization and Budgeting Team, a key position within the Bank overseeing organization-wide budgeting and the allocation of departmental functions.
Also conspicuous is the increased assignment abroad of female employees ? one assigned to a subsidiary in Hong Kong and three to international organizations (the OECD and ADB).
Korea Eximbank Chairman Kim Yong-hwan remarked, “Women will come to play an increasingly important role at every level of society. Korea Eximbank will lead this trend by continuing to foster an environment where employees of both genders can compete fairly.”
