The Export-Import Bank of Korea (www.koreaexim.go.kr, Chairman Kim Yong-hwan, “Korea Eximbank”) announced on December 26 that it held a ceremony to deliver KRW 38 million in charity money, raised through voluntary employee donations, to Community Chest of Korea.
The ceremony took place at Korea Eximbank's headquarters in Yeouido, Seoul, as part of the bank’s year-end effort to extend a helping hand to the less fortunate in society.
A portion of the donation will be used to treat underprivileged people suffering from incurable diseases.
After making the donation, Korea Eximbank Chairman Kim Yong-hwan commented, "Korea has achieved record-high exports this year. I hope such a rising tide will also fuel a surge of goodwill toward the underprivileged throughout society."
Korea Eximbank has been actively involved in helping the underprivileged in Korean society including multicultural families and resettled North Koreans through its Seed of Hope program, which is funded by a portion of the proceeds from Korea Eximbank's loans to large corporations.
