The Export-Import Bank of Korea (“Korea Eximbank”) announced that it launched the 21st EDCF Workshop for government officials of partner countries. For the three-day program from September 6 through 8, the Economic Development Cooperation Fund ("EDCF") invited 20 high-level officials from 17 partner countries including Vietnam and India.

Being held back to back with the EDCF 30th Anniversary & KSP Dissemination Conference, the Workshop consists of various informative and engaging programs such as EDCF/KSP Roundtable, site visits, and cultural tour.

On the first day of the Workshop, government officials from partner countries participated in one-on-one business meetings, which was a program offered by the EDCF 30th Anniversary & KSP Dissemination Conference, to share valuable information on their countries’ development strategies and infrastructure projects with Korean companies looking for overseas businesses.

At the EDCF/KSP Roundtable held on the same day, Korea Eximbank officials in charge of EDCF projects made detailed presentations on EDCF’s role and strategies to support developing countries in achieving economic growth, and discussed finding practical solutions to building close cooperation on international development with participants.

Sung Keuk-je, Professor of the Graduate School of International Studies of Kyung Hee University, delivered a lecture titled "Korea's Economic Development Experience and Its Lessons" to discuss how Korea achieved strong economic development.

The participants also visited Yeongheung Energy Park and Incheon Bridge Memorial Hall to take a first-hand look at Korea’s economic growth during the remainder of their time in Korea.

A Korea Eximbank official said, “Commemorating the 30th Anniversary of EDCF, this year's Workshop offers an opportunity to witness Korea's development history and sharpen EDCF's vision and to build strong economic cooperation between Korea and partner countries."

This year marks the 21st time EDCF has held the Workshop for partner countries. Since 1995, a total of 293 high level officials from 47 developing countries have attended the workshop.
