Chairman Kim Visits Companies to Learn of their Difficulties

□ On July 25, Chairman Yong Hwan Kim visited Winix and Sung Ho Electronics, potential Hidden Champions in order to learn of their difficulties and discuss practical financing strategies

○ Due to increasing raw material prices and falling exchange rates, a number of export companies are suffering from lower profitability.

※ Companies Visited:
-Winix, selected as a Hidden Champion in October 2011 (3rd Round), manufacturer of air purifiers, dehumidifiers, and refrigeration equipment parts, and located in Shihung, Gyeonggi Province
- Sung Ho Electronics, selected as a Hidden Champion in June 2011 (4th Round), producer of film condensers, power conductors, etc., and located in Gasan-dong, Seoul

○ Winix, a manufacturer of well-being appliances, won the 2007 Green Apple Award of the UK and the 2010 US$70 Million Export Tower Award from the Korean government.

○ Sung Ho Electronics, the leading manufacturer of film condensers in Korea, has continuously invested in R&D for solar inverters and hybrid vehicle condensers.

□ Chairman & CEO of Winix Hee-Jong Yoon stated, “We have greatly increased exports and sales through active expansion of overseas business partners. However, due to the rising prices of raw materials as well as the strong won, the company is struggling to timely secure materials while maintaining profitability.”

□ Chairman Kim stated, “Korea Eximbank will support the efforts of exporting SMEs, with high potential in terms of technology and growth, secure global competitiveness by providing them with comprehensive financial and non-financial services. We will continue to regularly visit our customers and strive to facilitate open communication with them.”

□ In order to assist exporting SMEs with high potential for growth better deal with rising prices of raw materials, Korea Eximbank provides them with low interest rate loans. In addition, the Bank provides consulting services on exchange risk management to help companies cope with lower profitability as a result of the fluctuating exchange rates as well as consulting for overseas expansion through the Bank’s overseas network.

□ Korea Eximbank introduced the Korean Hidden Champion Program in 2009 to identify and nurture Korean SMEs with high potential in terms of technology and international growth. As of July 2011, the Bank has provided a total of KRW 2,476 billion to 151 Korean Hidden Champions.
